Board of Directors
Jason Moore, President
Jason Moore became a resident of the Charleston area in 2000, when he was stationed at Charleston AFB. Currently attending Columbia Southern University to obtain a Bachelor of Fire Science degree and a Master of Emergency Service Management degree, he is employed as a Captain with James Island PSD Fire Department.
Jason began his fire service career in 2000, when he served as a firefighter with the United States Air Force. During his tenure with the USAF, he was promoted to the rank of E-5 (Staff Sergeant) and given the responsibility of managing the 911 dispatch center. Although he was stationed at Charleston AFB for his entire enlistment, he did deploy in support of operations in the Middle East multiple times.
After separating from the military, he worked a short time for Moncks Corner City FD as a firefighter before taking a job with Kellogg Brown and Root (KBR) as a firefighter in Afghanistan. While employed for KBR he eventually was promoted to Station Captain and ran a shift. Upon return to the United States, he was hired on at James Island PSD FD as a Captain where he currently works.
Jason is an advocate of Fire and Life Safety, resulting in his selection to join the board of directors for James Island Fire Alliance. As a member of the board it is his desire to promote the expansion of fire and life safety education within the community of James Island, through obtaining funds to develop better programs that target several age groups that are otherwise unreachable.
When not engaged in professional development or working for the district, Jason spends his free time with his wife Jennifer and son Cameron.

Lynda Hardwick, Founder and V-President
Lynda Hardwick, our Founder, has been a Charleston area resident since 1983. A University of South Carolina graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, she is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the private practice firm of Solomon & Hardwick LLC. Lynda currently resides and works on James Island, a place she has called home both personally and professionally for more than 13 years.
Lynda became involved with the James Island Fire Department in 2005 when her husband, Jim Yetman, became a volunteer firefighter. As the years progressed, she became increasingly active in supporting the fire department and the residents it protects while dreaming of a way to help them both. She developed strong passions in two arenas - first, to further educate the island's residents about fire prevention and safety and second, to assist the James Island Public Service District in ensuring that our firefighters have the best tools, training, and equipment possible to keep us all safe. Her dream became a reality when she founded the James Island Fire Alliance, Inc. in November 2010.
Lynda has served as a director on the board for the former John Ancrum SPCA, currently known as the Charleston Animal Society, and on the board for the SC Make-A-Wish Foundation.
In her spare time, Lynda enjoys time with husband Jim, her daughter Emily, and tossing toys with her pups - Casey and Brandy.

Diana Wood, Secretary-Treasurer
Diana S. Wood, originally from the small New England town of Holliston, Massachusetts, moved to Charleston in January 2004 and currently resides on James Island.
Over the years, Diana has always had a connection for Fire Rescue and Safety professionals. Relatives and friends in her life have worked and continue to work professionally and/or as volunteers within various fire departments at local, state and government levels. It makes sense that Diana would eventually meet and marry Steven Wood, who has served the James Island Fire Department for eight years.
After being laid off from a local bank and being out of work for nearly a year, Diana answered the call to help during the 2010 tax season at the CPA firm of Solomon & Hardwick, LLC. This opportunity was available because of James Island Fire Department relationships. While working with Lynda Hardwick, Diana's concern for the well-being of those who serve on the fire department grew. She is honored to participate in Lynda's vision, the James Island Fire Alliance.

Brian LeGette
Brian LeGette, a native to the Charleston area, currently serves as a Battalion Chief at the St. Andrews Fire Department in nearby West Ashley. He has served with St. Andrews for the past 20 years. Brian attended Trident Technical College and is currently seeking his degree in Fire Science & Management.
Brian is a resident of the James Island PSD where he lives with his wife and their six children. Both his career and residency has led to many opportunities to be involved with the James Island Fire Department. He remains a strong supporter of their efforts to retain valued employees, maintain proper equipment, adequate training and ultimately to promote fire safety to the public.
Brian has been an instructor for FEMA, the National Fire Academy and the South Carolina Fire Academy. Additionally he has taught healthcare for the American Heart Association and The American Red Cross to emergency workers, health care providers and the public.
With the birth of Brian & his wife’s youngest child being diagnosed with autism, he has become a supporter and advocate for children with special needs. This has also heightened his awareness for the ever present need for public education programs on fire safety.
“As a member of this board it is my hope and goal to promote fire safety public education. I want people to recognize early the hazards fire presents. The earlier the danger is recognized the earlier one can begin to make informed decisions for themselves and their family members. Often there are only moments between good, bad and tragic.”
