James Islander Caroline Christy Wins iPad
.

Grace watching as Caroline rips into her box.
Caroline Christy, age 9, was up early on Friday, October 14th checking our website to see who won the iPad from the prior night's Expo raffle. Her mother Helaine was in the kitchen making coffee when Caroline excitedly told her that they had the winning ticket. Mom who says she "never wins anything" checked the ticket number.
Caroline printed the page from our website and proudly displayed it on a tree in her front yard all day. When board member Lynda Hardwick arrived with the iPad, Caroline's excitement was over the top. Her friend and next door neighbor, Grace Brown, shared in the excitement - Caroline said she "could come over and use it too!" Congratulations Caroline!

The James Island Fire Alliance has joined forces with them to kick off a campaign to Paint James Island Pink. We are asking all businesses and residents on James Island to wear pink on October 20, 2011 in support of breast cancer awareness. Please scour your closets for pink and join us to PAINT THIS ISLAND! WE CAN DO IT!
